KU Engineering Expo

Engineering Expo is KU School of Engineering's largest student-run event open to K-12 students. For many of them, this is the first time they come into close contact with engineering and learn about this fascinating world. Our group contributes two well-received sessions thematic on joys and prospects of automatic control. One session is a presentation about the feedback control mechanism with application to control systems in our daily life, and the other a hands-on demonstration of feedback control in a line-tracking LEGO vehicle.

KU Engineering Summer Camp

​​Our camp session offers K-12 students an opportunity of learning control systems in an inspirational and entertaining way. The attendants are given a broad view of the feedback control world through a lab tour and a tutorial lecture on the basic concepts, its ubiquitous application in our daily life and its role as a foundational technology for various autonomous systems shaping our future transportation, energy, manufacturing and space exploration. The students also learn about the proportional controller design and apply it to build a LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 vehicle capable of automatic line tracking.
